Each year, CREATEcelebrates World Care Day – the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with a care experience. It’s a day to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and highlight the strengths and achievements of young people in care.
In 2026, World Care Day is held on 20 Feb and the theme is Breaking Barriers.

I hope my story inspires other care-experienced young people to relentlessly chase their dreams.
I now play instruments and that's where I made a lot of my friends. It helps me to communicate the way that I feel.
My journey has not been easy, but it reflects my determination to overcome challenges.
The 2026 Voices in Action Conference will place young people firmly at the centre. Guided by young people from across every state and territory, the program will be shaped by those who know the system best.
Over two powerful, immersive days, participants will come together on Larrakia Land to share ideas, celebrate culture, and shape a youth-led vision for the future of care.
