Voices in Action Conference

Where Lived Experience takes the Stage.

Voices in Action is CREATE Foundation’s flagship national conference - a powerful gathering that brings together young people with a care experience, carers, sector professionals, and decision-makers to listen, learn, and lead change.

Held every two years, Voices in Action (ViA) is a national forum where young people’s lived experience takes the lead - driving conversations, challenging assumptions, and shaping the future of care in Australia.

Voices in Action 2026

Our Voice. Our Future.

  • Thursday 1 - Friday 2 October 2026
  • Darwin Convention Centre, Larrakia Land
  • voicesinaction.create.org.au

The 2026 Voices in Action Conference will place young people firmly at the centre. Guided by young people from across every state and territory, the program will be shaped by those who know the system best. Over two powerful, immersive days, participants will come together on Larrakia Land to share ideas, celebrate culture, and shape a youth-led vision for the future of care.

Theme: Our Voice. Our Future.

This theme reflects a bold shift towards youth-led vision and action. While previous conferences have featured industry experts and senior officials, 2026 places young people front and centre - as keynote speakers, MCs, facilitators, and co-creators.

“We’re not just talking about young people - we’re listening to them, and following their lead.” - Professional Delegate

Held on Larrakia Land

CREATE proudly acknowledges the Larrakia People, Traditional Custodians of the land on which the 2026 conference will be held.

We honour their Elders, past and present, and pay deep respect to their continuing connection to land, sea, and culture.

What Makes Voices in Action Unique

Every Voices in Action conference is built in partnership with young people. From the theme to the workshops, young people co-design, facilitate, and lead sessions that highlight real stories, real solutions, and real change.

At ViA, we don’t just talk about young people - we work alongside them. Together, we create a space for connection, collaboration, and action across every level of the care system.

“We’ve worked hard to put the power, creativity, and choice in the hands of young people. What comes to life is a program shaped by their leadership, their priorities, and their vision for a better future.”  - Imogen Edeson, CEO, CREATE Foundation

Take a Look Back: Voices in Action 2024

Your Stories. Stronger Together.

The sixth international Voices in Action Conference was held from 21-23 March 2024 at the Adelaide Showgrounds on Kaurna Land.

The 2024 conference celebrated the importance of each young person’s story and how, when we come together, our voices are stronger together. It brought together hundreds of young people, carers, professionals, and decision-makers to connect, collaborate, and co-create solutions for a better care system.

“Being able to connect with people who share similar experiences and deep diving into problems and solutions within the care system.” - Young Delegate

“Hearing from so many brave, resilient, amazing care-experienced young people reignited my passion to do better.” - Professional Delegate
